The template I fear the most since last 2 seasons:
- CSK loses the toss and bat first
- There’s help in the pitch initially so we start with a poor PP and somehow end up with an okayish total
- Openers in the opposite team gets their team off to a flyer and they score double the runs in PP
- In the end, it turns out to be an easy chase with a big NRR dent for CSK
- Captain saying the wicket was difficult to bat initially and we were happy we reached a good score
rutu taking singles, giving urvil strike. this does two things- 1) relaxes bowlers that one end is silent, no need to plan anything for one end. 2) forces urvil to play shots like he has no choice. mentally locks him.
and when enough damage done, you'll launch your 110sr game pretending you have responsibility of team. it all starts with him. with that odi approach & chicken intent. everything falls flat. hope next season we undo this & have a brand new opening pair.
Ishan Kishan is a terrific cricketer who has just essayed an amazing international comeback.
He has also made almost a 100 crores just from IPL fees, not counting international duty and endorsements. This cheque is not a 100th of what he has already made and he's not the greedy sort.
So one can only assume this was literally a payout for a photo-op with him to ensure that the others in the picture got into the papers and all over social media.
Obviously, why spend one crore of government money on creating facilities or training centres or bankrolling poor athletes when you can instead use it to create a photo op by paying the one of the few athletes from your state who really does not need the money!
And that's why sport in India is where it is.
You still can't go directly from
Pune to Nashik
Pune to Sambhajinagar
Pune to Jalgaon
Mumbai to Ahilyanagar
Railways are doing nothing here and giving illogical excuses
And here they are spending ₹ 20,000 crores to connect an area with population less than building complex
Actually quite the opposite. Once you get accustomed to driving in Pune, your driving discipline & road etiquette tend to deteriorate, which eventually makes you a poor driver elsewhere. The unfortunate part-many of those habits & poor driving practices carry over wherever you go
Four years ago, I sat down with my 12-year-old daughter in the US and told her I was walking away from a successful tech career and real estate business to return to India for public service and politics.
At that age, she didn’t realize “public life” would slowly take her Appa away from her for months… and years.
But I came with conviction.
So for the last 4 years, we gave everything we had — for example -In villages like Subramaniapuram and Vellanaikottai, we built bus shelters, restored a 100-acre pond, removed seemai karuvelam, strengthened bunds, planted thousands of palm saplings, supported students’ education, organized medical camps and career workshops, built community sheds, encouraged youth and sports activities, and contributed to annadanams.
It cost several ten lakhs of hard-earned money - just for this village alone. But more than money, it cost time… family moments… and precious years watching my daughter grow up from far away.
Then elections came.
And the same village chose a candidate who had barely visited them in five years.
In the end, one week of election-time money defeated four years of sincere service.
Yesterday, my daughter quietly asked me over video call:
“Appa… can you now tell me what exactly politics is?”
For the first time in my life, I did not have an answer for my chellaponnu.
