Today, 8 August, is Severe ME Day.
Approximately one in four people with ME/CFS are severely or very severely affected. Many are confined to their homes or beds for years, unable to tolerate light, sound, smell or touch. Some can no longer sit upright, speak or eat without assistance; others depend on tube feeding.
ME/CFS affects millions worldwide. It is neither rare nor a minor illness. Severe ME Day draws attention to those living with its most severe forms and highlights the need for appropriate medical care, research designed to include those most severely affected and the development of effective treatments.
Today, and every other day, we want to recognise the people living through this reality and remember those who lost their lives.
Ontario is being ravaged by forest fires due to climate change and Doug Fords stupidity. Many of the communities being affected by these fires are Indigenous communities who were forced to live in high fire risk areas due to the government. PLEASE share and donate if you are able
Building on top of this please do not demonise past shippers. Boundaries have changed. Respect them. But also respect the people around you and in the community. It’s a sudden but necessary change, please be kind.
