Media & comms guy. Certified pedant. Usually tweet about sport (KC Chiefs/Royals, NZ Warriors); sometimes about journalism, especially falling standards.
@PTI I have really disliked this idea that Rory “frittered away” (the phrase here) or “squandered” or “collapsed” on the third round. He shot 73 and dudes by and large caught him. It’s lazy journalism (or commentary).
Cf. Norman, Gregory circa 1996.
@Gamanshiyou@NRL The effort was exceptional. But it absolutely was not a try. It was awarded based on a frame when the ball was still in the air. There’s even a shadow underneath it. And the fact it went up as no try means it can’t be overturned based on the footage.
@royalsreview This trend of placing someone of the injured list seems to happen a lot with underperforming Royals. I don’t really follow other teams. Do they do the same? Or is it some KC kindness thing rather than sending guys down or DFAing them?
@jeremy_gans That headline, though? Using the term “r*pist” based on this threshold? Are they just doing that because dead people can’t sue for defamation?
@Farzin21 Christchurch, New Zealand 🇳🇿 Lived in KC between 1995 and 2004. Been following the Chiefs fervently since arriving. Saving my DT #58 jersey for the Super Bowl. That’s my tradition.
Hey @anne__rogers, did we ever hear what the story was with Jordan Lyles? Regardless of how poorly he performed for the #royals, it feels like there must have been something pretty dramatic that brought his time in KC to an end
