Basically, this is saying energy companies can charge consumers the market rates for power, removing a previous cap that had been in place.

This means consumers are shouldering the cost of rate hikes when resources are scarce, such as in the middle of an unprecedented freeze.

I know everyone has been shouting at @ERCOT_ISO, but these three Abbott-appointed commissioners of @PUCTX are the ones overseeing that agency.

They also held an emergency meeting Feb. 15 to allow private energy corps to charge consumers (you & me) max. prices for power.
