A quick reintroduction.
I worked at Blockstack while I was still in grad school, helping with the developer ecosystem and the App Mining program.
These photos are from San Francisco, New York, and a talk I gave in Hong Kong in 2019.
I’m returning to X to share what I’m building and learning around AI, Bitcoin, and @Stacks .
Good to be back.
P.S. The fourth photo was taken at Blockstack Base in New York in 2018. We were still known as Blockstack then, but the Bitcoin white paper was already hanging on the wall—a small sign, looking back, of the project’s long connection to Bitcoin.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown. I couldn’t agree more with your point about the ecosystem’s response.
We need more people like you doing this work, but we also need ongoing security monitoring and regular reviews of existing protocols, not just audits when new features launch.
With so much attention on Bond BTC right now, I’d like to see the same urgency around protecting the users and liquidity already here. I haven’t seen much direct engagement from the teams leading the @Stacks ecosystem. Are they actively investigating and helping coordinate a response, or do they see this as solely Arkadiko’s responsibility?
I’m not asking anyone to guarantee every dApp or cover every loss. But sharing verified information, checking for risks to other protocols, and communicating who is doing what should be part of supporting an ecosystem.
We can’t celebrate DeFi growth as an ecosystem achievement, then treat the damage as purely a project-level problem. How the ecosystem responds now matters for long-term trust.
Are there any deeper technical discussions or research on this direction that you’d recommend reading?
I’ve been following the privacy experiments on the Stacks forum, especially Stacks Shield. Curious if there’s more work around the architecture for BTC privacy on Stacks — particularly whether the direction is an application-level shielded system or something more deeply integrated with sBTC / the Stacks protocol.
Some news: I’m coming in as the new CEO of Stacks Labs.
- I co-founded Stacks in 2017; we’ve been live for 5+ years and have gone through various chapters of decentralization.
- I’m more bullish on $STX than ever before. After the successful launch of Bitcoin staking, it’s time to double down on the growth of Bitcoin capital markets.
- After ecosystem restructuring last year, Stacks Labs has emerged as the operational hub. Taking on a day-to-day operational role there lets me put rocket fuel on the institutional BD work I was already doing.
- Stacks is pushing the frontier of Bitcoin. The tech is stellar. More BTC capital flows and widespread marketing of Stacks are what’s needed now. That’ll be my focus.
- @alexlmiller has done a tremendous job over the last year as interim CEO, put us on solid operational foundations, and pushed the core staking product live. Huge kudos to Alex for all his contributions!
- Satoshi upgrades 1 delivered self-custodial staking. We’re working on other frontier Bitcoin challenges like 100x capacity, institutional-grade privacy, and post-quantum. I look forward to working with our fearless CTO, @AdrianoDiLuzio, and the rockstar team on this exciting roadmap.
Start of a new chapter for Stacks and me. It’s time to light up some fires and push the frontier of Bitcoin. Forward!
@muneeb@BullishBits Got it. The idea of using Stacks as a privacy layer between BTC UTXOs is really interesting, especially how the anonymity set and peg-out correlation are handled. Would love to hear more as the design evolves.
@muneeb Great to see you showing up more on X/TG. Would love to hear more about the roadmap for BTC on Stacks — especially new BTC use cases and progress on privacy. I think the community is eager to see where the next chapter of Stacks is heading.
10/10 Genesis Bond stores productive Bitcoin. stBTC makes the claim usable.
That is how a free port starts building an economy around capital that remains deployed.

Genesis Bond brought Bitcoin into the Stacks free port. @StackingDao stBTC adds the next layer: the BTC position stays deployed, while a liquid claim can move through lending, trading, and vaults.
The cargo stays. The economy moves. https://t.co/udgiZwxCSW
1/10 Genesis Bond brought Bitcoin into the @Stacks free port. But a six-month BTC position is still locked.
So how can that capital keep earning and still become useful inside the financial system? This is where stBTC enters the story. 🧵
9/10 The key metric is not only how much stBTC is minted.
Watch whether it stays near its underlying value, how often it is used as collateral or liquidity, whether redemptions work under stress, and how much real activity each unit creates.
