@CantEverDie You are nuts. No one party has all the good ideas. The best ideas come after two sides debate in good faith. If you want a party of losers who won’t work with the other side, join the GOP.
@MikeNellis What you say is true, MN. Megan Kelly is not a good faith actor. But I am a lifelong Democratic voter and the way California runs its elections is a feckin’ embarrassment to me.
Newsflash: Graham Platner voted to reelect Susan Collins in 2014. She won, which is why she was able to vote for Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Like…hello? I wish Poindexter Hayes had been this concerned about the SCOTUS in 2016.
@EliLake A lifelong pro-choice Democrat from NYC took over your party a decade+ ago, Eli, and you’ve never looked back. I personally think Trump is the fat lady singing on a once grand ole party. Why should Republicans get to have all the fun?! Let Dems walk on the wild side a little.
@queerBengali You must not know many disabled children. I do and this is NOT what I observe at all. This sounds like BS leftie pablum, which I am sick of. And I am a Democrat.
Nothing makes you a feminist more than having daughters. My oldest had been dating a boy from church for a while and for her own reasons, she ended it on Sunday. Monday morning, she walked out to find her car covered in syrup, shaving cream, and dish soap. Our exterior cameras clearly show the boy and a friend doing it overnight. Local police are dragging their feet, calling it a “prank” and suggesting I “calm down and think about the boy’s future” since he is leaving for the Army this summer.
I was left standing there with a 17 year old who is hurt, confused, and trying to figure out why this is being treated like nothing, and she was told to worry about his future instead of justice. I am starting to understand how often the person who was wronged is asked to carry the weight so things stay easier for the person who did it. I do not know how women live with that, being expected to absorb it, excuse it, and move on while the people who hurt them are protected from the consequences.
@ryangrim If you keep living in yesterday (and rewriting yesterday’s history to suit your own current day grievances), you’ll likely be miserable tomorrow.
Are people really dumb enough not to understand campaign messaging and strategy?
Talarico's entire campaign strategy is to get enough Texas Republicans who see Paxton as a bridge to far to cross over and vote for him in spite of their partisan loyalty. Do you really think Texas Republicans are not going to run ads featuring Platner saying, "Democrats are willing to vote for a man who beat his girlfriend and has a Nazi tattoo out of partisan loyalty, you can suck it up and vote for Paxton to keep them out of power"
Republicans had hoped to do this with Roy Moore in Alabama over Franken in 2017 but by pushing him out, they couldn't.
Latter-day Saints are among the most patriotic, service-oriented individuals in our country. They are also unequivocally Christian—just look at who is in the name of the Church.
It is unacceptable for a government entity to characterize a faith in a manner that contradicts the religion’s own foundational tenets. I am working now to ensure a correction is made.
A Collins classic here where she joins Dems in the failed vote to block Trump’s slush fund so she can say she was against it, but when they needed her vote to get it over the top she was there for them.
