That’s because in many Asian societies, family approval carries significant weight, even when the children are fully grown adults. Respect for parents, filial piety and family obligations are deeply ingrained cultural values. Being an adult doesn’t automatically mean being free from parental expectations.
You may not agree with the storyline but that doesn’t make it unrealistic or unnecessary. In fact, this conflict reflects a reality many Asian women face. It’s not simply a tired drama trope. It’s a cultural and generational struggle that deserves to be represented.
Yes, queen! Say it louder. The Loyal Pin is the best GL drama ever produced by humanity.
For me, this drama comes close to perfection in every single category: cinematography, directing, acting, episode count, plot, vintage costumes, makeup, hairstyles, chemistry, intimacy, kissing, and NC scenes.
P.S. I also have a suspicion that Freen clearly prefers playing the "bottom" role. 😂 Guess being kissed, cuddled, babied, spoiled, cared for, and pounded by Becbe... ahem, Princess Anil, against every horizontal surface in 1950s Thailand excited her far more than playing any of her modern "top" characters ever could...

🗣: "Are you a jealous person?"
🪽: "Very jealous."
🗣: "And do you show it too, or not?"
🪽: "Maybe I can't hide it on my face."
Becky's POV: always made it so clear, 😂😉😅
The first clip was the sole reason I started watching Poisonous Love when it showed up on my timeline. It only took a second for me to be mesmerized by Ginny and fall in love with her. She has the prettiest smile. 🥹❤️

I really have to admire the Hometown Romance production team. They always know how to instantly shift the atmosphere to perfectly match what each scene needs.

The acting, scene transitions, pacing, sound effects… everything works together seamlessly.
Even though we already knew this drama would never have a bad ending, the atmosphere created by the production team still completely pulls you in.
It feels like you’re right there with Si — hearing the terrible news, regretting the hurtful words said in anger, and suddenly being thrown into a world filled with fear and helplessness.
Once again, huge applause to the Hometown Romance production team 👏🏻
