The President of the United States made $2.2 billion in one year while sitting in the Oval Office, most of it from industries he regulates. Experts now compare his self-enrichment to Putin and other authoritarians, not to any leader of a democracy.

You know this is blatant corruption.

You say it privately.

So when will you say it publicly?

Is holding your seat really worth your silence?

I’ve heard the argument. If you speak out, you lose your primary, and someone worse takes your place. But look around. What has your silence actually prevented? The corruption grows bolder every day you stay quiet. The country needs your courage more than it needs your incumbency.

One day your kids and grandkids will ask what you did when the President of the United States sold the office for billions. They will read the record. They will know whether you stood up or stayed quiet to protect a title.

Ask yourself how you want to be remembered, because history will remember either way.

Yesterday, Peskov said: this is no longer a "special military operation" - it is a war.

This statement by an official is yet another step toward a future mobilization in Russia.

What could happen if war is officially declared instead of a "special military operation" ("SMO")?

Instead of partial measures, Russia would launch a mechanism for general (total) mobilization and introduce martial law:

◾️ Putin would have to issue a decree introducing martial law and submit a bill to the Federation Council and the State Duma declaring a state of war.

◾️ The country's borders would be automatically and completely closed to all citizens liable for military duty, preventing them from leaving the country.

◾️ Unlike the "SMO," where the focus is on people with combat experience and in-demand military specialties, a general mobilization would call up all categories of citizens in the reserve, in turn.

Another indirect indication of preparations for a total mobilization is yesterday's news that the Russian defense ministry intends to abolish mandatory medical examinations for contract soldiers and those mobilized to determine their fitness for service. The ministry has already prepared the relevant amendments to the law on military service.

Abolishing military medical examinations would introduce a "presumption of absolute fitness" for everyone subject to mobilization. This would make it possible to mobilize large numbers of Russians and send them to the front lines as quickly as possible.

All Russians who do not want to lose their lives or their health in a criminal war must flee Russia. Right now.

Something that has surprised me with all the @EnvAgency nonsense is how the outcry against the EA’s actions has come from across the political spectrum. It doesn’t feel like much can unite the left & the right any more, but it turns out that threatening volunteer river guardians with prosecution for caring for a river that the EA has left to rot (whilst they let illegal sewage go unpunished) is apparently just such an issue.

The Telegraph have done quite a detailed & fair right up of the whole issue. Even better, when I was showing them around and having photos taken by the Aldersbrook, I spotted a shoal of fish fry in the river for the first time. It’s wonderful that life is returning to the brook already & shows the stupidity of the EA’s lies that we were somehow damaging the environment by restoring the brook. Seeing the positive effects already gives me even more strength not to back down; the EA is welcome to restore the rest of the brook with me & the other volunteers but I will defy them & keep restoring the river if they try & block or hinder us.
