Feels almost redundant to point out how racist and intimidatory behaviour like this gets barely, if any, attention compared to, say, dismantling a components factory providing tools for enabling genocide.
Britain now has race riots every year, fascist parties do significantly well in polls, the RNLI is abused and attacked by racist scum
but the biggest headlines about bigotry are the UK greens because they called out a genocidal country half the world away
Only one British newspaper put the suspension of the RNLI’s life-saving service on their front page. How long can the media downplay this obvious and terrifying escalation by the far right? This should have been a wake up call for the country. Sadly, it isn’t.
@Chinchillazllla English flag-shaggers hold anything outside of a very narrow band of cultural signifiers in contempt, but also get super indignant when anyone from the other home nations slag off the English or support our opponents in football
Putting aside the *insane* downplaying of what happened here in the BBC News Headline;
This was just a racial Pogrom. White Supremacists saw a group of non-white people and immediately tried to take violent action against them.
This country has lost its mind.
@teyrns@blackironframe The MGS feature wasn't diagetic either, it's an omniscient narrator. Definitely a more creative presentation than this so I see your point there, I don't have an issue with pause menu hints but they'd be much cooler if presented as a book recalling the tales of the hero of time
took several reads to get a feel for what the article is at pains to avoid saying out loud: migrants from an intercepted vessel were planned to be brought ashore at a small landing with a single, easily blocked access road which happened to be blocked by fascists. the rnli vessel
