On Monday, I had my first phone call with UK Secretary of State @DavidLammy and received his warm congratulations on my appointment. Acknowledging recent high-level exchanges, including the ROK-UK summit (June 17) and the visit of the presidential special envoy to the UK (July 17–18), we agreed to further deepen our cooperation across various fields such as economy and trade, defense, climate, as well as AI and technology.

급변하는 국제 환경 속에서 글로벌 전략적 동반자인 양국이 여러 계기를 통해 긴밀히 협력하는 것이 중요하다는 ��� 의견을 같이했습니다.

I had my first meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. I expressed my deepest condolences to the families of the British nationals who tragically lost their lives in the recent flight accident in India. As close friends and trusted partners, Korea stands together with the UK in this time of sorrow.

We also discussed ways to upgrade our bilateral relationship. We will continue to work together for the successful conclusion of the ongoing ROK-UK FTA enhancement negotiations.
