Gary Player designed it. The best in the world have played it. Sun City has hosted the Nedbank Golf Challenge since 1981.
Four hotels, including The Palace. Two Gary Player-designed courses. The Valley of Waves, excellent restaurants, spas and plenty to do beyond the golf.
And when the golf is done, Madikwe is within easy reach — magnificent Big Five safari and superb lodges.
That’s what I love about golf in South Africa. The golf is only part of the journey.
Let me show you the South Africa I love.

9.89s!!🔥
Bayanda Walaza 🇿🇦 stormed to an equal Personal Best (PB) of 9.89s (+0.6) to win the men's 100m at the Serbia Athletics Meeting!
He equalled his PB from July this year, beating Kadrian Goldson 🇯🇲 who ran 10.04s and Jerome Blake 🇨🇦 in 10.06s.
On February 19, 1980, Bon Scott, AC/DC’s charismatic lead singer, went out partying in London after a night of drinking. He ended up unconscious in a friend’s car, and the friend decided to let him sleep there instead of taking him home. The next morning, he was found dead. He passed away due to alcohol poisoning at the age of 33.
The band was devastated. Angus and Malcolm Young seriously considered breaking up AC/DC. Bon wasn’t just their singer, he was the soul of the group. But they decided that the best way to honor him was to keep making music.
They began looking for a replacement, and that’s when Brian Johnson came along, a singer from Newcastle with a raspy, powerful voice that impressed the band at his audition. Months later, with Brian at the helm, they released “Back in Black,” an album dedicated to Bon Scott that would go on to become one of the best-selling albums in Rock History.
Perth, 2008. Australia set South Africa 414 and sat back like the job was done. Highest chase in this country. Pitch getting worse. Attack still got teeth. 😬
Graeme Smith makes 108. Prince makes 123. Then AB de Villiers walks in like this is a club game.
106 not out. No panic. No hero shots early. Just keeps finding the gap until Australia have nothing left. Duminy hangs with him. Six wickets still in the shed when they knock it off. 💥
414 for 4. Highest successful chase in Australia. One of the great fourth innings.
Edgbaston, 2008. England set South Africa 281 and the pitch is starting to turn. Flintoff is steaming in. Monty’s finding the rough. Four down. Nearly 200 still needed. Looks gone. 😬
Graeme Smith just does not leave.
154 not out. 246 balls. Almost six hours. Ugly drives. Dead defence. That big front pad. Nothing pretty about it. Everything heavy. 🧱
Boucher comes in and they drag it home. Extra half-hour. Smith hits the winning four. 💥
First series win in England for 43 years. Vaughan resigns. South Africa finally break the thing that had followed them for decades.
