@ryorekuiemu Totally do it. You have a right to culture. It's the system's blame to not make it acceisble and with reasonable price. Also, there is someone always pocketing the money and not giving musicians enough so in that way musicians can get famous and maybe later win money from that.
Perhaps because Japanese people understand a concept that seems surprisingly difficult for you: wanting something doesn't automatically give you the right to take it without permission.
You raise a legitimate problem. Regional restrictions can make legally accessing certain works impossible. But then you offer three explanations for why Japanese people defend copyright: corporate loyalty, ignorance about piracy, or never having experienced the inconvenience themselves.
Fascinating. Apparently, the possibility that someone fully understands your frustration and still respects a creator's rights is simply beyond your imagination.
And let's appreciate the irony. You want Japanese creators to produce the entertainment you love, but when their work isn't available on your preferred terms, respecting their intellectual property suddenly becomes a uniquely Japanese character flaw.
You complain that Japanese people don't understand your situation, while demonstrating a remarkable inability to understand that Japanese creators have rights independent of your desires.
The world doesn't owe you unrestricted access to every piece of entertainment ever created.
And perhaps the reason you find that so difficult to understand isn't that Japanese people lack experience with piracy. It's that you've mistaken your inconvenience for an injustice and your personal desires for universal rights.
lowkey why do so many japanese worship corporations a lot like theyre so ready to fight you if you mention about piracy, pirated goods, bootlegs, 3rd party stuff etc
it got to a point where ive seen someone argue about pirating a japanese game that isnt in stores anymore and a japanese guy scolded him and said that if it isnt in store anymore he will simply not play the game LIKE WHAT???
@taichi_luvwave@PeachMedianext@gb_rescueA It does. That’s exactly why you should give it a try, too.
Then, when it becomes more mainstream, we can make the problem of region-locked games become enough of a problem for the developers to realize they should stop refusing to sell globally.
