I had the privilege of working alongside Jo for two years at Virginia, and I can honestly say there are few people in this profession who care more deeply about doing things the RIGHT way and for the RIGHT reasons.
She led with grace, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to helping our student-athletes grow…not just as players, but as women. She cared deeply about their experience and led with authenticity, compassion, and the highest level of integrity. Her investment didn’t stop with the players, either. She took immense pride in developing her young staff members, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without her belief in me, her mentorship, and the opportunities she gave me.
In a profession where coaches are often criticized and too few people publicly speak up in their defense, I wanted to. I’m incredibly grateful for my time at Virginia, and I’ll always be thankful to Jo for believing in me, challenging me, and giving me my start. 🤍
Today and every day, we remember and honor the lives of Lavel Davis Jr, Devin Chandler, and D’Sean Perry. We lost friends, classmates, teammates, family members, and bright shining lights in our lives. We hold them and everyone else affected by the tragedy close in our hearts🧡💙

If you have anything you want to sneak into the house, Christmas Eve is the day to do it. Can just rush through the door carrying anything saying “DON’T LOOK! DON’T LOOK!” and people will close their eyes. Next thing you know you’re eating a bucket of KFC safely in the bathroom.
“We are better, and we will do better because of Devin, Lavel, and D’Sean. To the families, we love your sons and we will make sure their legacy never fades at the University of Virginia.” - Carla Williams
