Overall we argue that prospects for building resilience are higher if these approaches can find ways to work together to develop solutions that are better adapted to both social and biophysical conditions
Happy to share this new review paper led by Helena Shilomboleni from @ers_uw examining how the concept of resilience is used to inform agricultural development interventions in Africa https://t.co/7e6ModXYup
The review reveals 2 major strands of research that respectively focus on 1) technical climate-smart solutions to build resilience that tend to be adapted to biophysical systems and 2) co-developed solutions that are better adjusted to the social context
@ForrestFleisch1 I really hope we get to the point where the answer is "yes, of course"... but unfortunately right now I think its a risk with highly idiosyncratic responses. To me, these tools have the potential to remove an important and now unnecessary barrier in research
We are hiring/recruiting PhD students! If you are interested in cyber security, space, SES, group decision making under uncertainty get in touch! We offer up to 7 teaching assistantships. More info here: https://t.co/oXkM9qPbLV
Thinking about starting an interdisciplinary, research-focused graduate degree to advance the sustainable energy transition in Fall 2025? If 'yes', please think about potentially working with me in @ers_uw at @envwaterloo/@UWaterloo. More information at:

A great start to #pecs3 including Alta de Vos, @OonsieBiggs and @aequinlan emphasizing the values of the conference around care and diversity @PECS_Project
I will be recruiting two new PhD students to start in Feb 2025, to join a lively social-ecological research team working on protected areas. This is a competitive opportunity that involves applying for internal scholarships; I will support two or three applicants. If interested./
