I may never fully understand why some things had to end the way they did. And maybe I don't need to. Not every ending needs an explanation. Sometimes, acceptance is simply saying, “It happened, it hurt, but I survived it, and I am ready to move forward.”
There are things in life that I wish had happened differently. Moments I wish I could change, words I wish I had never said, and memories I sometimes wish I could forget. But I am slowly learning that not everything that happened was meant to be changed.
I forgive what happened. I forgive the people who hurt me, and most importantly, I forgive myself—for the choices I made when I was simply doing the best I could with what I knew at the time.
