I think the point she’s making is the buying experience was great. I’d agree with her the classic dealership buying model sucks. I think you are also correct the Volvo should have been fine if taken care of for a long time. Btw, the 50k maintenance package is mostly a scam — you can have all those items looked at and the few things done by an independent for far less. Change the oil and filters regularly and service brakes when required. Spark plugs generally at 100k (if equipped with platinum) and keep a check on the trans fluid.
How they can field these candidates and have a chance of winning idk. I get the subsidized class voting for Ds but there are a lot of working class and educated (probably part of the Education, political, green energy or grift industries) pulling the levers. One would think the last 8 years would earn at least 10% the R way but the Ds for sure have a plan B.
Smart — you can’t verify it’s not counterfeit in your driveway. I’ve sold cars, usually not at that price point, and requested cash. I normally close at my bank so I can walk over and deposit it and they fraud check it. I also closed on another at a sellers bank and they gave me cash there at their window. As for the legal issue, I don’t think you signed a contract/bill of sale yet so he has no claim.
Yes they had many of them in MI years ago but closed most of them. I’d say in their absence, or reduced amount, law enforcement including judges must sentence properly. The miscreant who lit the young lady on fire in Chicago in the past year has a wrap sheet a mile long but kept getting paroled. I’m glad my young lady moved out of there last in 2025.
@shoesonplease How we get such an unproven and unaccomplished person running for a US Senator representing MI I’ll never understand. I guess it’s her or Abdul for the D ticket. I’d think this makes Rogers look better.
Yes they always claim mental illness as if that excuses the brutality of their actions. The mayor, governor and others in power responsible for Chicago and IL are the ones with mental illness as they refuse to do their jobs. They hand out money to the lumpin proletariat to keep them happy and to stay in power. You won’t catch me in that city ever again — it’s ruined.
Not surprised as the Ed industry wants more money. It’s crazy to think the average homeowner would vote for allowing them to pick our pockets for a $MM slush fund. The public schools should show progress in academic results and managing the existing funding before getting more. That said, I’d not be surprised if it passes as many aren’t voting except those in the industry.
Shouldn’t the primary recommendation be to use those fancy degrees to earn two good paychecks? Maybe they aren’t so valuable and the universities just pocketed the money. The numbers he’s talking about $400/month in cash flow are peanuts. I figured that out but I have a finance degree.
@tekprime99 Can’t expect 12% per year for her entire retirement horizon. That said, she can adjust if the returns are lower. Also it doesn’t sound like she’ll need all that much money. I take out what I need and leave the rest invested.
@Hedgeye There likely will be a big pullback, correction or bear-market. They happen after a run of good fortune. The problem of timing it is when will it happen. Remember, the market recovers and a broken clock is correct 2x a day! Good luck and stick to your allocation strategy.
@DaveBondyTV 74 during the day and 70 at night. Older home —upstairs (bedroom) is warmer. Also, I leave the humidity setting at 43%. Newer A/C 21SEER with dehumidification cycle. Works well — highly recommend the technology as dry air at 74 feels ok.
2 years ago I took a statin for moderate elevated LDL ~130-140. HDL was great - 68. After a year my LDL was 70, ratio 2.9, and HDL 40. Was feeling sick and had all the side effects stated by drug manufacturers. I stopped 10 months ago and now HDL is back up in low 60s. Ratio is 4 and LDL backup but Triglycerides all good at 80. Anyhow my Doc says I may want to restart Statin. Regarding it lowering my HDL he says as long as it’s above 40 is ok. I’ve been told by a Cardiologist and another Doc the ratio, triglycerides and high HDL are important and if you’re worried about LDL do the heart scan. It seems anyone over 100 LDL gets a statin.
Thanks Doc. I took your advice and took the Pheno Age test and started the D3 and Magnesium supplements. Your information has been very interesting and helpful. I really appreciate it.
Note: I have the moderately high LDL - HDL, ratio, and Triglycerides are good. Going to get the heart scan and had the Lp(a) test - scored a 40.
