By locking in OpenAI, $NVDA controls pace of their compute stack & lowers risk of spend moving to custom chips.
With $MSFT & $ORCL backing distribution, Nvidia shapes both hardware & channel -- that’s how a supplier becomes the indispensable platform.
Now that Trump's Big Beautiful Bill has passed, the race is officially underway.
The US will need to grow GDP by an average of 4%-7%+ per year - for the next 10 years - to offset the spending in the bill.
That's 10 years of GDP growing 4% to 7%.
Without it, the deficit and debt will continue to increase.
The last time the US had 4% GDP growth was 2000.
Either the US will have one of the greatest economic expansions in history, or we'll continue our march towards certain bankruptcy.
Now that the budget bill has passed Congress, we can see what the projections look like for deficits, government debt, and debt service expenses. In brief, the bill is expected to lead to spending of about $7 trillion a year with inflows of about $5 trillion a year, so the debt, which is now about 6x of the money taken in, 100 percent of GDP, and about $230,000 per American family, will rise over ten years to about 7.5x the money taken in, 130 percent of GDP, and $425,000 per family. That will increase interest and principal payments on the debt from about $10 trillion ($1 trillion in interest, $9 trillion in principal) to about $18 trillion (of which $2 trillion is interest payments), which will lead to either a big squeezing out (and cutting off) of spending and/or unimaginable tax increases, or a lot of printing and devaluing of money and pushing interest rates to unattractively low levels. This printing and devaluing is not good for those holding bonds as a storehold of wealth, and what’s bad for bonds and US credit markets is bad for everyone because the US Treasury market is the backbone of all capital markets, which are the backbones of our economic and social conditions. Unless this path is soon rectified to bring the budget deficit from roughly 7% of GDP to about 3% by making adjustments to spending, taxes, and interest rates, big, painful disruptions will likely occur.
NEW: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent strikes down CBS News’ Margaret Brennan by reminding her about her own previous comments about inflation.
Another rough weekend for Margaret.
Brennan: “The reality is there will either be less inventory or things at higher prices or both.”
Bessent: “When we were here in March, you said there was going to be big inflation. There hasn't been any inflation. Actually, the inflation numbers are the best in four years. So why don't we stop trying to say this could happen and wait and see what does happen.”
President Trump’s speech in Saudi yesterday was brilliant.
Finally, a U.S. president who seems to understand the Middle East, and that smart-arse Western neocons trying to tell the Arab world how to live their lives has never worked and will never work. Bravo @realDonaldTrump 👏
Honored to discuss AI with H.E. @aalswaha at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum. Saudi’s burgeoning tech scene is truly impressive. Grateful for our friendship and the opportunity to strengthen U.S.-Saudi partnership. To win the AI race, we must encourage the world to use the U.S. tech stack, not restrict it.
Palantir CEO Dr. Alex Karp at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum 🔮
“What you're seeing on the ground, if you're looking at actual value creation in the physical world that can be quantified— AI that's not a joke, you're seeing a receptivity in this region, especially in the kingdom, but the receptivity is on the back of people who have a deep tradition and engineering excellence and, quite frankly, believe in their own future.
"The great contra distinction here is Europe, where it's like people have given up. And I really hope that turns around in Europe.
“If you want to do engineering meritocracy, you're much better off here than almost any place in the world, and that ethos and competence is going to lead to a massive outperformance.
"And in part because people don't have it, really underestimate what's going what's going to happen here. I'm very enthusiastic. And I also kind of like the people here so that helps.”

Today our delegation from the U.S. was honored to receive a tour of Saudi Arabia’s high-tech sector with its excellent Minister of Communications & Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha @aalswaha and his team. Joining me were Senior AI Policy Adviser @sriramk and longtime Silicon Valley investors & founders @altcap@sundeep@murr. Pictured below, we visited clean room labs at a chip fab; met Saudi astronauts; talked with female entrepreneurs at startup incubator The Garage; and discussed how AI could benefit our two countries.
