Mental Health is often regarded as an adult issue but it does affect children also. They may heal faster than adults, but some severe cases can still lead to lifelong struggles if not properly attended to.

As we join the world in marking #WorldMentalHealthDay, let’s remember mental health begins with care from our families, friends & communities.
When we show compassion, listen & support one another, healing becomes easier & possible for every Gambian.
#Mental Health is Health
Let’s normalize safe spaces where we can collectively put an end to all forms of harassment against girls and empower each other to create a safe and just world for the many generations of girls who will walk this earth.
It was an exciting space @Safespace4_G

We can’t wait for another safe space discussion with adolescent girls especially in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child 2025 @Safespace4_G 🤗🤗🤗. It’s a day to amplify the voice and power of girls 🗣️ 🔊 🔊 🔊
We were very delighted to share this wonderful space with @Safespace4_G for young girls to discuss some of the challenges that affect us daily and share coping mechanisms that work best for each one of us.
Spaces like this remind us of the strength we embody naturally.
At Guidance and Counselling Centre for Children, we do not only aim at promoting academic excellence but we encourage young people to take up leadership roles and participate in extracurricular activities which plays a vital role in enhancing career growth at this young age.
When we started our career counselling programme with these young people in 2023, they were in grade 4, shy and some of them were still struggling to read. It’s so exciting now we have a Head Girl, an Assistant Head Boy and Councillors among them 🥰🥰.
