Our third Ghost Story was a salvation story that occurred between Philip and an Ethiopian eunuch. As we obey the Holy Spirit to do the mission of the church, we must reach people outside our four walls, come alongside them, and show them the love and freedom of Jesus Christ.

Our first Ghost Story followed alien activity in Jerusalem. Regular people who had traveled from all over the world began to value people over possessions. They lost their prejudice and loved one another. The evidence of Jesus' resurrection was obvious in the early church.

On Sunday we started a journey in John 15. Jesus said, "I am the vine, and my father is the vinedresser." The fruit of the Christian is a by-product of a life where we cling to Christ as he has clung to us. In order to cling, we must drop bitterness, jealousy, and revenge.

As Christians we cling to the promises of God. We cling to hope for the future. Most of all, we cling to Jesus. In order to cling, we must start with empty hands.

God wants us to go after our higher calling. While the world seeks a good year, we seek Godly character. Others may seek to be healthy. We strive for wholeness in Christ. Don't settle for "what shall we eat...and what shall we wear."

We're 3 days into our first 10% of the year, and with it our 36.5 sermon series has begun. For the first 36.5 days of 2019, we are going to read John 1:15-17, pray about it, think about it, and totally ruminate on this piece of scripture.
