@danwilliamsdtg Don't give examples of other people.
Give examples of yourself.
It could be that he quit writing and started something else.
You don't know.
So you should mind your own business I feel.
You don't have to be good.
Forget about being great.
You just need to start and keep doing it over and over again.
It's guaranteed that you will improve.
Does your company have a mentorship program ?
If yes then what knowledge do you share with your mentees ?
Or what wisdom did you get from your mentors ?
Is it related to the tech / social skills that they need to network ?
What exactly do you mentor about in the SWE field ?
Do promotions in the SWE field depend on skills
Or
The number of years of experience
Or
The amount of contribution/ vision/ value you provide to the project ?
Here's a simple hack to have a productive day:
Track the kind of activities you are doing every hour.
Analyse it.
You will understand what took your time.
Try to eliminate it in the next hours.
Do this obsessively.
We have an intern who joined recently
He was hired to work majorly on the frontend with me
But his interest is in backend
I on boarded him wrt all the UI stuff he will be working on but he keeps asking for backend tasks/ backend related questions
How do I deal with this ?
