A timeless quote from Spinoza :
- "All things excellent are as difficult as they are rare"
Spreading goodness in this world is a challenge far surpassing the ease of sowing discord.
Every breathtaking beauty in our world is born of tireless and passionate endeavor.
You can't get something beautiful that is also easy to obtain.
The book from which this quote is derived, I've read it several times. It's the hardest book I've ever read in my entire life. It's called Ethics and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone lacking substantial determination. But if you do, the knowledge you'll acquire will be greatly beneficial to you.
Do you understand ?

I always liked you both. You are examples in many fiwlds. But your brother is wrong on this one.
He's saying that America taxes Canada 25% while in reality Trump taxed the importations from Canada wich IS PAID BY AMERICANS. In order to make american products more competitive. This price increase will be reflected on Americans in all sectors, particularly energy.
Without entering in the details of it, Canada is ESSENTIAL for America for energy. Anyway, I'm disappointed in Andrew for taking position without really knowing what it is about.
Yes, Sabrina would be third without her injust 0.1 penality.
Chiles got her medal removed because she took 1 minute and 4 second to appeal the decision and the Olympics normaly allow 1 minute.
So now neither Sabrina or Chiles have the third place when they are the most deserving of it.
Ana barbosu has now the medal because of the 1 minute rule applied on Chiles appeal and because of the unjust penality on Sabrina.
@Brad_Mead@TateTheTalisman@ChilesJordan Alright but you understand that the third place is now Ana Barbosu and not Sabrina Voinea (the one who got 0.1 deducted for stepping out of bounds).
Does it mean Ana Barbosu stole the medal ?
"For none of these gets a single grace from praise or one blot from censure. Does the emerald lose its virtue if one praise it not ?"
- Marcus Aurelius
In 2002, a 19-year-old British garbage man won 10 million pounds (approx $15 million) on the lottery. He spent it all on drugs, gambling and prostitutes and 8 years later was back working as a garbage man again.
Unlike many philosophers, Socrates taught in the streets for free. He left no writings. Everything we know about him comes from his students. He walked barefoot and dressed modestly, engaging in dialogue with everyone.
He was teaching, or more precisely, questioning.
Obviously, this didn't sit well with certain powerful individuals, and he was accused of 'corrupting the youth.'
Ultimately, this resulted in his condemnation to death by poison in 399.
Does this remind you of someone ?
When @Cobratate says : 'I would never kill myself', I can't help but think about Socrates's story.
Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
