@grimdix Wow! Hay has certainly changed since my last visit. The economic downturn has had more impact than I imagined. Never mind, Rishi! is in charge now!
@StargazerFred@Barangaroo@darkskyaus Great picture guys! But with weather like that looks like you might be in the Oringinal South Wales! Barry Island perhaps?
Got to see #CometLeonard on my @Unistellar#eVscope from outside the Auckland Museum this evening. Arriving again after a 45,000 year wait. But thanks to Venus, sadly never to be seen again!
My spies at Southside tell me a move of Labour’s HQ to #MerthyrTydfil (the place of it’s birth) is imminent. Merthyr like Mecca and Bethlehem will thereby become a place for pilgrims and true believers to visit. Thank you, the Conservative voters of Hartlepool!
@JohnBarentine@LUCtweeting@NatResWales Hello John. The issue is that this doesn’t show the horrific impact of light pollution on mid Wales (especially on a dark sky park like the Elan Valley) emanating from the high density population / industrial areas of Birmingham and the Midlands just over the border. Best, Gareth
#RWC2019 Carter, Nonu, Smith, Milner-Skudder, Julian Savea and a younger Ben Smith would have crushed SA in that second half not settled for two short range penalties. That said, the current lot did have a great 7 minutes in the first half, so the NZ press are in myopic raptures!
At the Field of Remembrance in Auckland. 18,277 crosses commemorating all the Kiwis who died in WWI. It’s 10.30pm but people still wander among the crosses. I see Orion rising in the north east sky like they who are commemorated here would have 100 years or more ago.
@ScienceWithMat Matt! Good to hear from you man. Just been watching (online) the Electron rocket blast off from the East Cape of NZ. Still find it hard to believe that NZ is a space nation!!!!
Amazing night at the #PopupGlobeAU in the Sydney Entertainment Quarter. Stephen Lovatt is the definitive Macbeth. Make it if you possibly can. A magical night of Shakespeare. One might almost believe it was 1602!
@JohnBarentine Hello John. This was a great conference. Marnie Ogg did a great job organizing it. Nalayini will write to you soon with an update. We are all feeling positive about making a difference and “making our dark skies great again”!! Best, Gareth
No, it’s not a big refuge bin! I’m outside the dome that houses the Anglo Australian telescope at Siding Springs in the Warrambungles. You can hire it for AUD25,000 a day!
The multi-talented @StargazerFred Watson delights a huge crowd at the Coonabarabran Golf Club with his guitar playing in the lead up to #StarFestAUS2018 after the Riding the Lightwave of Technology Conference.
