AEW Dynamite this week had a lot to enjoy. The opener was as 2019 as they've felt in forever, and that's from both an energy and production aspect #missedspotswithnoreplays

@HeyHeyItsConrad I feel it's ok to criticise when it comes with the right intensions. I love AEW and have supported them financially (every PPV) and vocally since inception. However the current state of storytelling/booking is not what was pitched or delivered 5 years ago. Change is needed 🙏

@slick2099 Disagree. If all stories were built week-to-week, had a payoff AND a follow-up, fans would have a reason to invest. They rarely do. Dirtsheet rumours only impact your business if you build a brand that targets the IWC, sorry, the "sickos".

@QTMarshall Question should be: can you please book @DeonnaPurrazzo in a story that builds to a title match? These multi-women matches or battle royales to earn title shots leave fans less invested in the characters, titles and overall product. Do better.

My argument was that as a viewer I have zero belief that Jarrett, at this point in his career, will actually win the title, so why bother? Much prefer a younger, established star getting the TV time. Easier to invest in a potential win

@HeyHeyItsConrad @jbarnacles It's also a case of Jeff being a victim of circumstance. This story in 2019 probably wouldn't stand out so much. In 2025, I've been burned by AEW's storytelling to the point where it no longer feels like a legitimate alternative

@HeyHeyItsConrad @punky287 I agree and disagree. MJF is a former world champ. The fact that he requires any more "build" says a lot about the state of AEW storytelling. I hear what you're saying though. I'm just a fan, so at the end of the day, I'll never truly understand the psychology

@HeyHeyItsConrad @jbarnacles Couldn't Jeff agree more. The downfall of AEW storytelling is the follow up. If Jeff must get that final title shot, then winning a BR, having a shot and moving on is definitely the way. Personally I just wish rising stars earned title shots through builds and not battle royales
