In Japanese version, the technique he uses here is “8000,” while the one he used against Luffy and Zoro was “80.” Since 80 is exactly 1% of 8000, maybe Oda is suggesting that Gaban only showed 1% of his power when he fought Luffy and Zoro.😍💪

There may also be a reason why Oda chose 80 and 8000 instead of numbers like 50 and 7000. In old Japanese expressions, numbers such as 80 and 8000 can mean a very large number, not just the exact number itself.

For example, “8000 generations; Yachi” appears in Japan’s national anthem and means a very long period of time. Japan also has the old expression “8 million gods,” which does not literally mean exactly eight million gods. It means that there are countless gods.🤔

So the numbers in Gaban’s techniques may have a traditional Japanese meaning as well as the clear connection between 80 and 8000.🌏

Based on math alone, the technique he used against Imu is 100x stronger than the one he used against Luffy and Zoro.
