namjoon defended armys when james corden called armys 15 year old fan girls, namjoon is perhaps the only idol who reads and makes an effort on feminism as a man in a misogynistic climate and took responsibility for every action seen as a mistake, namjoon says women shouldn't face marriage pressure, namjoon wrote a song supporting lgbt before debuting in 2012, bts members in general don't put love into gender roles, hoseok tells his female fans you should be careful against every man, hoseok praises women in the most beautiful way without sexualizing them in his songs and many more things. yes you might have experienced disappointment, but i won't let you forget especially namjoon's and hoseok's respect for women.
"Leaving the Magic Shop" I swear to God y'all are corny asf😭. No one is holding you hostage and forcing you to stay. You're just using this moment as an excuse to show the hatred you already have for the boys.
my two cents:
cb is a piece of shit. usher is a piece of shit. namjoon and hobi going to their concert isn’t something i would’ve chosen and yeah, i think it’s fair to say it was a shitty decision to go. but am i surprised? no. do i feel disappointed? also no.
because imo, to be disappointed, you have to have expectations and i just don’t have those kinds of expectations for them. i have expectations for people who actually know me and who i actually know: my friends, my family, the people i have real relationships with. i don’t really understand having that same kind of expectation of someone i’ve never met and who doesn’t know i exist. i don’t care about famous ppl THAT much.
obviously, there are things i fundamentally disagree with, things i would never support and people i simply wouldn’t engage with because of what they publicly stand for. but i’m never going to expect bts to embody MY moral framework or make every decision according to MY values. they’re not my responsibility, or my children. they’re grown adults.
yet, the post concert pictures pissed me off. them standing next to those men is ew. i don’t like seeing it. it rubs me the wrong way. but then again, i don’t care enough to turn it into a statement about everything they believe in or who they are as people.
because at the end of the day, you don’t know them.
you. do. not. know. them.
you simply don’t fucking know them. you know what they choose to show you. whatever parts of themselves they decide to put out into the world. that’s it. there’s so much about them that we’ll never know and i’m not interested in pretending otherwise or constructing some perfect version of them in my head, only to feel betrayed every time they do something that doesn’t fit it.
