@mysteriousrona I wore one at work in specific areas in the early ‘70’s to ‘86 had a box in my locker. It was a Float Glass Plant. Extremely hot near furnace. The air depending what area you were working had dusts, glass particles, asbestos in the air. Warehouse was clean.

I have disappointing news about this year's Nuvaxovid rollout...

Nuvaxovid is the vaccine created by @novavax and is now licensed by @sanofi.

We'd hoped Sanofi would streamline the rollout process and, as a larger company, have more of its ducks in a row.

And that doesn't seem to be true at all.

Sanofi hasn't hired a team to lead the COVID vaccine marketing department; that's the entire rollout strategy, and they just extended the deadline for applicants until Sept 4th.

That means with onboarding and education time, we're looking at a totally rudderless ship for Nuvaxovid's 2026-27 rollout.

So, they might have no strategy for this year's rollout at all.

Ultimately, it seems likely at this point that Nuvaxovid will eventually be available in some form in most or all provinces.

However, As @DoNoHarmBC has succinctly warned, pressure must still be applied to all provincial and federal public health interests to ensure adequate accessibility: “We encourage people to continue applying pressure, writing and calling their public officials to ensure that Novavax is adequately distributed and made accessible to the people who need it. We have been told that purchasing of the vaccine will be based on past uptake, which was low due to a delayed rollout and severely restricted availability, contributing to perceived “low demand”. If people are not made aware that Novavax is available and how to find it, then this may repeat itself, with the government becoming less likely to order it in future seasons.”

If you live in Illinois, I want you to become part of this project — as a citizen scientist, researcher, student, educator, parent, building professional, coder, data nerd, or simply someone who thinks we should know more about the air we breathe.

This is not just an outdoor air-quality map.

The larger goal is to build a public picture of air quality across Illinois — outdoors and indoors.

I want to eventually map and document air quality in the places where people actually spend their lives:

🏫 schools, colleges & universities
🏛️ public and government buildings
📚 libraries
🚆 train stations & transit hubs
🛍️ malls and other shared public spaces
🏥 healthcare settings
🏢 workplaces and community buildings
…and anywhere else people gather.
What do we know about the air in these places?
What can we measure?
What information is already public but difficult to find?
Where are the gaps?
And, most importantly: what can we improve?
The Illinois project is also meant to be a proof of concept.
If we can figure out how to do this well here, I want other people to copy it.

Want to build one for Indiana? Michigan? Wisconsin? California? Somewhere else?

I’ll even help build the website.

You host it. You maintain it. You organize people in your state to collect, verify, and populate the local data.

Let’s figure out a model that anyone can reproduce.

Clean air shouldn’t be invisible infrastructure.

We should be able to measure it, map it, understand it, and improve it.
