You need to understand that these people believe they’re saving the PLANET.
The whole planet. From a fiery doom. They sincerely believe that.
Really stop and think about what someone who believes that would be willing to do. And what would be off limits to them.
If node-based compositing is your cup of tea, whether for VFX or Mac development: meet FxCore. It’s free, and a great way to play with Core Image Metal shaders, CoreML, Vision, FoundationModels, etc.

Spotlight continues to suck beyond belief. Google can fuzzy-search the entirety of human knowledge on the Internet in less than a second and here we are, waiting for Spotlight to return just *some* results (least relevant ones first, of course) at the speed of a typewriter. And in macOS 26 it also misses some files entirely.
Insane fact: Fil-C is the most memory safe programming language.
Why? Because the transitive closure of your dependencies - all of those legacy C/C++ libraries you absolutely will depend on - is memory safe in Fil-C. You just recompile them with my compiler
In other “safe” languages, you link to the unsafe versions of those libraries and pretend that that’s fine even though it’s totally not fine
@krzyzanowskim@Dimillian But it won’t be visible anywhere else… best we can do is have a “compliant” icon for Finder, about window, alerts, etc. and then a “out of the box” version applied via DockTile. I settled for one version only but you, sir, are braver than most :-)
@filpizlo I actually love Fil-C, has the same ring to it as Obj-C. MC works but somehow hints that this is a different language and it’s not. That -C does a lot to reinforce that this would just be a “special” C compiler.
How do I put this nicely... No amount of fiddling with it is going to make it better. You have a fundamental problem at the core of it. In order to fix it, you have to discard the idea in its entirety.
One goal for this piece was to capture the way the dust and gas swirls around the supermassive black hole, something usually not captured at this level of detail.
I have a free 4k download and prints up to 75” on my website, so you can see every detail! https://t.co/xOEHBPrNWc

@Boston_MA Congratulations on completing the first two-way moped lane on Boylston St sponsored by Chick-fil-A! A real milestone for our ambitious net zero targets. Seriously stop trying to defund them and go beg Boston Police to enforce road laws before someone gets run over.
