@precordialthump@RogerRdharris It’s one grand fishing 🎣 expedition. the fear of under diagnosis leads to over diagnosis .then those tests due to peer pressure and lack of self confidence ..we need to scientifically investigate and ameliorate iatrogenic harm. btw missed diagnosis is not under diagnosis IMHO
I agree - but to be more precise:
- good critical care is doing as little as possible to patients,
- except in those in whom the right thing may be to do as much as possible
- and the art and science of good critical care is identifying the latter population
