What a bizarre list of records... Simz record isn't her best, Missy's isn't her best, Woods is nice but too high, The Streets albums are not that good. Oh, and Coloring Book? Coloring Book?
every time there's a new Drake album, I see a lot of people talking about it, and none of that chat makes me want to listen to it.
not sure I've listened to a whole project of his since covid, and I don't think I'm missing out on anything at all
Freddy gets straight to the point here. The development of rap and the development of deejaying (in Jamaica) both come from the same source, radio DJs, more like cousins than a direct line early on. Fascinating divergence, and then intertwining of culture across decades.
This is a reason I like the beatles so much. Once they had a little spending money, they pressed the limits of what they could do in production. honourable mention to Jimi for the same reason.
So much of, well, everything that has happened to music in the last 100 years has happened because of technology. Engineers shape the landscape, and then musicians find the gaps they can sit in.
cracked DAWs running on consumer-grade computers are an order of magnitude cheaper than proper musical instruments and the high cost of housing means spaces to practice and play shows are pricier. it's like how big bands disappeared when amplification made small bands competitive
This is where dancehall comes from, the DIY sound systems, it was a technical solution. Hip Hop was a technical solution, the advent of mobile DJs was the set up. Everything from the 60s to today is linked to recording and production capabilities.
Been watching the merseyside derby, and the commentators keep praising the ref for letting the game flow, then again, now 3 players have gone off injured, and Konate should be off too...
@oeste As the other comments said, $100k per record break. Isinbayeva did it in the women's pole vault a few years back too, every event, just add a couple centimetres
Someone explain to me why prizing 3 SER is an issue. You don't need any until you take a KO, in this matchup, your first KO is likely a 3-prizer. So without being extremely unlucky, you'll have access to at least 2 SER by the time you need them... I'm with Drew, not an issue
Pragmata was unveiled during the PS5 launch announcement in 2020. It's coming out this year, and it's coming out on the Switch 2 too. I've been looking forward to it, now I probably won't even play it on the PS5.
@LyricOfWisdom Definitely my favourite version of Bolt since rotation, super fun to play. Unfortunately missed day 2 to Dragapult w Moltres + Defiance Band. Glad to see you have a great run with a similar list!
Played my dumb Sandy Shocks Bolt list to Toronto, because I hate playing mirrors, and am determined to have fun playing Pokemon. Had the pleasure of playing some great players, and ended the day with a smile, a great set with Shun knocked me out of contention.
