@JohnRentoul The recent @PPFIdeas podcast examined the counterfactual of the Industrial Revolution happening in Japan, the French Revolution happening in China. It was very enlightening.

@Samfr that quote really wound me up. Maybe the full article is more nuanced but "Clinton had a bigger lead than Harris and lost and Biden had a bigger lead than Harris and won" is not the type of analysis I'd expect with FT subscription rates being as expensive as they are.
Strangely, I currently have absolutely no idea who is going to win the Tory leadership contest but my priors suggest it'll be the looney or the person pretending to be the looney, who'll do it.
@PoliticalUklist It's just a very hard race to call. The candidates are all pitching themselves to the membership even though it's not their choice until another 2 rounds.
