A foreign-born federal judge who reportedly never renounced her foreign citizenship blocked the federal government from verifying voter citizenship data.
Judge Sparkle Sooknanan made a promise under oath. She pledged to renounce her Trinidad and Tobago citizenship to fulfill her duties. Recent reports suggest she never did. She took the bench anyway.
We introduced legislation to close this gap for GOOD.
No one serving in one of our nation's highest offices should have one foot in America and one foot in a foreign nation.
Not on our watch.
Prosecutor In Letitia James’ Office Blows Whistle: He Was Ordered To Find Dirt On President Trump Despite No Evidence
Daniel Wiesenfeld says he was told to hunt for crimes by Trump, Truth Social, and other Trump-linked groups — with no credible reason.
He emailed 2,000 staffers, compared it to a weaponized DOJ, and said they should chase real crimes like shelter fraud instead of political enemies.
Letitia James put him on leave for raising concerns.
I stood on those courthouse steps every day and told you exactly what Letitia James was doing.
She didn’t find a crime and follow the evidence. She picked President Trump and went shopping for one.
They called me a liar.
Now the truth is coming from inside her own office.
I told you so, Tish.
The witch hunt just found its whistleblower.
🚨 TERRIFYING: New York Gov. Kathy Hochul puts on a hijab in a room chock-full of Islamic men
She forgot 9/11.
She is the governor of New York and is embracing the VERY IDEOLOGY that TERRORIZED her OWN CITIZENS 😠
This needs to be rejected, NOT embraced!
Wake up NY!
They lecture America about “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
Then New York’s governor covers her head for a room of men and calls it leadership.
Same crowd that treats a church dress code like oppression just went quiet.
Kudos to Texas Rep. Brandon Gill for saying the quiet part out loud.
Vote in the midterms as if Trump is on the ballot, because technically he is!
The remaining 2 years of his presidency, future of the Republic, influx of communism, and the rise of Islam in America are what's at stake!
Choose wisely, and get out and vote in 64 days!
The House passed more than 300 bills and sent them to the Senate over the past year.
The Senate has sat on them.
America needs a Senate leader who isn’t Mitch McConnell’s stand-in.
Remove @LeaderJohnThune.
Save the country.
🚨 JUST IN: House Majority Whip Tom Emmer BLOWS UP on the Senate for STILL not having the SAVE America Act passed
CANCEL RECESS AND ENTER A TALKING FILIBUSTER, THUNE 🔥
"Everybody has heard them say we don't have the votes. REALLY!? You don't have the votes for something that's an 80% issue across this country with Republicans, Democrats, and others?!"
"People believe it's reasonable that in order to vote in this country, you must first establish that you are a lawful citizen."
"That's number one. Number two, when you show up to vote, you make sure that you identify, you can confirm that you are that citizen who is lawfully right to vote by showing a photo ID. That's an 80% issue."
"That is something that is Republican Democrat and other, and they tell us they don't have the votes. Here's the other thing that you got to pay attention to. When you say you don't have the votes, tell us what the problem is!"
"What exactly do you disagree with when it comes to the American people and they're not telling us that!"
"So as a House member, I am extremely frustrated, but it is not me that you should be concerned of it. It's the American people who want this."
I grew up 90 minutes from Pecan Island, LA as a born and raised Cajun in Lafayette 28 years ago.
I left because South Louisiana had no deep-tech path for me. @ULLafayette gave me my pre-med degree. To become a biomedical engineer I had to pack my bags for @CUBoulder to get my masters in biomedical engineering. Denver had become a biotech hub that I was wanting to get into because my home state did not have the industry for me to be apart of.
Louisiana trained me. Another state got the benefit.
That has been the story for far too long for the boot. We raise computer scientists, mechanical, electrical, and biomedical engineers; then Texas, Colorado, California, New York, etc. hire them. We had the oil, the minerals, the talent, and the extractive industries. Other states benefitted off of them.
Louisiana has been used to benefit other economies without companies and industries investing in our own state.
That landscape just changed.
Governor @JeffLandry and @SpaceX have announced Starbase Louisiana on the coast at Pecan Island. $100 billion investment in the state. The largest investment in this state’s history. Ten Starship pads on ~125,000 acres. Construction in 2027. First launch targeted for 2029. At least 3,000 direct jobs at ~$92,600, nearly double the parish average, plus 8,000+ adjacent jobs. @elonmusk has said the real number is closer to 10,000.
Despite what you might think, this is not just rockets over the Gulf. It is welders, technicians, engineers, and operators building the infrastructure for routine access to space.
In addition, a project this size does not stay a spaceport. It pulls energy, software, logistics, other deep tech, housing, and advanced manufacturing behind it. Welders who built pipelines will build launch infrastructure. Universities that used to export talent will feed a local industry. That is how a launch site becomes a multi-decade tech boom, and why Louisiana’s economy will not look the same in 20 years.
I did not come back home to watch it. I came home to build in it, and I am all in.
Kids in Abbeville, Kaplan, Lafayette, and Pecan Island will grow up watching Starships leave their own coast. They will not have to leave home to work on the frontier.
The Louisiana Purchase stretched America from sea to shining sea. This stretches humanity toward the stars we look at every night. This turns our civilization into a Kardashev Type II civilization.
And the marsh is not an afterthought. This coast has been disappearing for decades — in places 3 to 23 feet a year. We currently can not afford to save it alone. SpaceX is partnering with the state on the Coastal Master Plan: shoreline protection, marsh creation, wildlife habitat. $25 million to the Community Foundation of Acadiana. Parish payments projected over $820 million across 25 years. First work on the ground includes the shoreline.
If you care about this ecosystem, read the actual commitments before you write it off or protest against what this means for our great state.
South Louisiana has the workforce, the work ethic, and the skillset. What we lacked was a reason for the next generation to stay. This is that reason.
Thank you @LAGovJeffLandry@elonmusk@SpaceX for betting on Cajun country.
The next kid from Lafayette should not have to leave to build the future.
