It's really been hard to write my thoughts on my first year out of Gaza.
But here is my reflection, as I've realised that survival outside Gaza was a lie & now I have to fight a mental occupation and emotional death in the West.

“I think it’s really, really clear where Jews of conscience stand [on Palestine].”
Canadian Party Leader @avilewis explains to @mehdirhasan why he identifies as anti-Zionist and believes most North American Jews feel similarly.
Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian fishermen trying to feed starving families, off the coast of Gaza today, injuring three people.
The attack comes as the U.S. and Israel continue blocking adequate food supplies from entering Gaza while maintaining sweeping restrictions on essential humanitarian aid, deepening the hunger, fuel, shelter, and medical crisis across the Strip.
Dutch crew member of the Gaza humanitarian flotilla, Jesse, recently detained in Israel’s Ktziot prison, returned home today and said her “heart broke not once, but a hundred times” over what she witnessed inside the Israeli prison.
She recounted one message scrawled in Arabic on a prison cell wall that stayed with her:
“If the world knew what was going on here, the world wouldn’t just cry with tears, but with blood.”
⛵️ REPORT | Global Sumud Flotilla volunteers released testimony describing severe physical abuse, torture, and sexual violence following the interception of their vessel by Israeli forces. The flotilla says at least 12 sexual assaults were documented aboard the vessel alone, including anal rape and forcible penetration with a handgun.
Participants said detainees were subjected to humiliating strip searches, sexual taunting, groping, and multiple people were raped. Many others described rubber bullets fired at close range, tasers used on the face and upper body, stun grenades thrown into groups of detainees, prolonged stress positions under permanent bright light, and hijabs forcibly removed.
Much of the testimony of Israeli abuse came from what volunteers called the “torture boat,” described as an Israeli naval vessel outfitted with makeshift detention structures built from barbed wire and shipping containers. Detainees say they were taken one by one into dark containers where Israeli commandos beat and abused them.
Yassine Benjelloun, who had previously participated in another flotilla mission, described hearing guards say “Welcome to Israel” before he was punched in the head and ribs, kicked to the ground, and left listening to other detainees screaming inside the darkened container.
French participant Adrien Berthel said he was specifically targeted after soldiers saw his nail polish and mocked his perceived sexuality.
Veronica Otero, who witnessed the processing of nearly all 180 detainees over three days, said volunteers emerged with broken ribs, fractures to the torso, shoulders, and back, adding that some “were not breathing” because of the severity of their injuries.
Volunteers also reported being photographed during strip searches while guards laughed.
According to the testimony, abuse continued after arrival at Ashdod port, where detainees described further beatings, sexual humiliation, prolonged interrogations, and torture.
The organizers said the abuse they experienced over several days reflects what Palestinians in Israeli prisons “experience every single day… for decades,” noting that more than 9,000 Palestinians are currently imprisoned by Israel, including over 3,500 held without charge under administrative detention and more than 400 children. They also cited Save the Children reporting that 69% of detained Palestinian children reported experiencing sexual violence or sexual abuse.

@DropSiteNews@griffinpdavis@TomSteyer If he doesn't want to make a value judgement because he's not an international law expert, fine. But why not just acknowledge that there's now a broad consensus among Holocaust scholars, human rights organisations and international institutions that this is indeed a genocide?
@BotengaM I'd never heard of you before, but thank you for saying this. The UAE has somehow managed to be involved in two genocides, given its increasing alignment with Israel. Also worth mentioning is their treatment of migrant workers from South Asia.
Belgian Member of the European Parliament Marc Botenga called out the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during a session in the European Parliament for its support for the genocidal Rapid Support Forces.
