@MavsMuse Dang I know he underperformed, but don’t think J Rich deserves the rondo tier. That should be reserved for actually Rondo, Fisher and Odom. Also seeing Grimes made me vomit as I still hate that trade.
@danno_omen@erikm2424@rhodeislander@pablofindsout@PabloTorre With Bird rights Toronto can offer $48M more than any other team in 2019. Kawhi wants to leave but he wouldn’t have those bird rights, so he leaves the $48m on the table for now. Who’s to say without this extra $ he doesn’t leave? Retention/acquiring advantage is circumventing.
@SleeperMaverick Derron Williams.. was hyped when we finally got him but injuries pushed him past his prime. Was salty when him and Howard didn’t join Dirk via Free Agency a couple years prior.
@ZimCaster@UsherNBA Lifelong Mavs fan, that 2011 Blazers team was tough. Shame Roy wasn’t 100%. Saw them play many times in Dallas over the years. On a trip to San Fran I went to a warriors blazers game Lillards rookie year and sat right behind him on bench. He was cold.
@UsherNBA Dirk NOWITZKI.. grew up during his career and family had season tickets my whole life. Saw it all in person from the early 2000s with Nash, losing finals in 2006, mvp and choking in 2007, winning it all in 2011 and his last game in 2019. I was 15 when they won the chip.
@SleeperMaverick Christian Wood. Had a great season in Dallas till about new years.. then wound up in the dog house after an injury if I recall. Was so pissed at the time, but glad he wasn’t in the long term fold.
@NickVanExit This is a good take, and why I think the report of up to 4yrs/$92m are crazy. Everybody knows deals always go up, and Lively does have a higher ceiling than Williams and hopefully a better medical outlook. Would be okay with a 3/$48 up to a 4/$60 deal.
@TheDunkCentral@KellyIko Dude can’t even get a 4-year normal max from another team.. not a pistons fan but why exactly would they handcuff their salary cap situation like this when they seemingly have the leverage.. oh and the playoffs. They prob wanna reduce the deal $10m for every ppg he regressed.
@J_torres1212@NationMffl Unfortunately he is incapable of not doing “the most”. He def hits shots.. at a 37% clip. He distributed the ball and averaged 3 assists last year.. with two turnovers as well. Hardest pass in the history of passes.
@NationMffl Have full faith in Tarik. With Christie, Sasser, Larry and Klay still on the main roster I’m okay if they let him go to keep Sved closer to the team.
@yardestyle Klay would still create a roster spot. He wanted a guaranteed non two-way contract. He was with the Mavs in SL last week and is close with Coop. He used NY as leverage, he knew Mavs would match. Posted on IG that night and seems happy to be in the fold. Congrats on chip and GL.
@yardestyle Lively is coming off of the most mismanaged injury in the modern NBA. At public event last week he looked like he could barely walk. I’m sure extreme caution will be exercised.
At least one of PJ/Klay/Gaff will likely be moved, which will create minutes.
@MichaelSalfino He’s not getting waived. The Mavs will likely make additional moves that could create a roster spot with their forward logjam. Could be Klay, PJ or Gaff. Worst case scenario they’ll just dump/waive somebody like Caleb Martin. Cisse is here to stay.
@Fullcourtpass@TheSteinLine Really don’t understand why everybody is trying to trade him with the current Lively situation being what it is… last year wasn’t his best, but he’s played 55+ games a year. Lively has played 55, 36 and 7..
@KevinGraySports Why not? Potentially gives you added flexibility to move somebody like PJ. Young guy, low risk and good upside, #1 pick and 21 y/o. Masai values size, Nemby prob not a long term rotation fit. Risa could be a long term rotation guy/maybe a starter? Sergio made nemby expendable.
