So far, using AI feels nothing to me like playing a musical instrument, at least not an analog one like the piano; and I doubt that gap is bridgeable by a process of incremental refinement so long as the interface remains symbolic rather than material.
Still looks like work... Having to repeat each thing you hear or think into AI yet again. Why can't it be more proactive? Listen to your conversations or thoughts, then fetch information, draft emails / prepare actions, & show you a final draft before anything high-stakes?

@RuneKvist@TheEconomist But to say that the government can provide cyber security for everyone?
I'm not saying it's impossible, or that the government can't contribute quite a lot here.
Just that we shouldn't take it as a given that that's the only way to do it.
@RuneKvist@TheEconomist Software users of all sorts -- individuals, companies, governments -- will have to be prepared for that possible future; have their contingency plan in place.
@brisketandboots@HormuzLetter Fair point. Could be the one China trying to seed discontent here and break down relations -- between US and Israel.
But I'd have to read more to comment.
But wouldn't be a surprising move -- classic DARVO https://t.co/cWMrlaGcP7
But the hardest part of figuring out what each person should work on might be *coming up with new things* for people to spend time on -- identifying new problems, etc.
It might not all just be building training environments in the existing RL paradigm...
From https://t.co/csgBXgslBC:
"Our research lab aspires to solve humanity’s greatest coordination challenge: deciding where each person should spend their time"
This is a big, unjustified assumption, and overstates what impact the company is having.
It's great for people to work on training environments, and indeed this might be one of the most valuable things for many people to do right now.
