#Indiedevs - I know you're all over the place on here. I'm looking to make trailers for you guys - FOR FREE. Up to 1 minute long. 1 per game. 3 free trailers. #indiegames only. Let's help and support each other!
So I finally got my ears pierced - after 30+ yrs of being afraid. I'm not sure why, but somehow only having to answer to myself - being my own boss - gave me the courage to conquer this fear. And now I feel ready to keep taking them on.
What fear have you recently conquered?
One of the most basic things you do as a #videoeditor is cutting. Despite this being an incredibly basic part of the process, it is SUPER important. Besides clearing up audio, it's probably the most important. Don't get so caught up in fancy and fast that you forget the basics.
Tools I use as a #businessowner with #ADHD:
1. Phone alarms & calendar
2. Spirit City Lofi Sessions (steam)
3. Focus Friend (phone app)
4. JIRA (project tracker)
What do you use to help manage your workday?

Lastly, but not leastly (yeah I know it's not a word) on the #Connecticon interview list is Natalie Fuinha, the creative and whimsical director behind the Storyteller Squad Podcast!

Next on the #Connecticon interview list is Kathy Scranton, the wonderful owner and designer of Beez by Scranton! These purses are not only gorgeous, they also support a great cause.

Going to #Connecticon was such a treat this year! I got to chat with (and interview) several of the creative geniuses behind the booths, and I've just got to share them with you geeks. Let's start with Austin Hartell, aka The Dungeon Artist.

@BrawlDevRBLX I was initially impressed by how much effort you put into the form...but then got to the budget section. Please don't hire until you're prepared to pay fairly. Video editors get paid between $20-100 per hour or an equivalent flat rate. You are offering $10-70 per video.
@janetjacksonseo Hello! Your DMs are not open, so I'll share my portfolio here: https://t.co/wEWsmBS0tf. Some info about me: 4+ years of experience in video editing and content creation, experienced in multiple niches, edit longform and shortform. Let's discuss the project needs further!
Looking to hire a video editor who knows how to communicate professionally, values your time, and doesn't treat your content like it's AI slop?

It's pretty much impossible to not think about AI. It is EVERYWHERE. So, I think I've solidified my opinion at this point: I'm not against AI. I'm against replacing Humans. It's not the AI that laid off thousands of workers - it's the *people* who took those workers for granted.
Alright #indiestudios, listen up - I am trying to branch out my video editing services to video game trailers. My portfolio is very limited in that regard. So, I am offering FREE #gametrailers to 3 indie studios. Up 1 min, game footage must be provided. Comment if interested.
Welp, I'm back - begrudgingly. I like #BlueSky much better, but it's harder to reach #indiestudios on it so far, and they are the audience I need to reach. Le sigh. 🙄
@vidIQ Appreciate the help! This BG3 build didn't do nearly as well as the other LOTR-themed ones - trying to analyze where I went wrong. https://t.co/aFgOKivzYo
I'm planning my X-it strategy over to Mr. Bluesky. Come follow me over there and let's build a positive and supportive community of creators! @geekemedia.bsky.social
