Continuing my search for underexplored & less crowded destinations….
We often celebrate Kerala’s backwaters. But on Karnataka’s coast is a hidden gem that deserves equal attention.
The same river that roars over Jog Falls, the Sharavathi River, finally and quietly merges with the Arabian Sea at Honnavar.
Again, not sure if these pics are enhanced, but it’s clear that Honnavar is a magical landscape.
Mangrove forests, winding waterways and mirror-like backwaters.
Since Mangroves are among nature’s most effective coastal defenders, Honnavar’s beauty is matched by its ecological significance.

Your doctor says your blood pressure is "a little high."
But high blood pressure silently damages your arteries and brain for years before symptoms show.
Here are 7 science-backed methods to lower it naturally:🧵
1. Don't worry so much about salt. Worry about potassium
Millions of Indians use #haircolour products every month to cover #greyhair or change their appearance. Now, the country’s drug regulator wants manufacturers and importers to demonstrate that the products they sell comply with safety standards and carry adequate #warnings for consumers. The move comes amid heightened regulatory attention on cosmetic products and places the spotlight on ingredients used in hair dyes, some of which are subject to restrictions because of their potential to trigger allergic reactions or other adverse effects in sensitive users. @timesofindia@CDSCO_INDIA_INF@MoHFW_INDIA

A patient asked me today: "Why do I always wake up at exactly 3:30AM with my heart racing, wide awake, and unable to go back to sleep?"
This is actually one of the most misunderstood physiological alarms in the human body.
The first 30 minutes after you wake up program your brain for the entire day.
73% of people sabotage it without even realizing it.
Here are 7 morning routines Neuroscience says work.
Annamalai Quits BJP, Singham Goes Solo.
Ex-TN BJP chief K. Annamalai has officially submitted his resignation to national president Nitin Nabin in Delhi today. The ex-IPS officer who built the party in tough Dravidian turf with his fiery style and yatras sees no future or space left after BJP's poor 2026 show, just one seat.
He turned down Rajya Sabha offer, met top leaders including possibly Amit Shah. No more alliance compromises or sidelining. He's launching a people's movement first (Rajini-style name hinted), then full party in 6-8 months.
Pushed out as president for AIADMK tie-up, unhappy with tickets and strategy. Gave prime years post IPS for Modi wave but watched ground work diluted. Now targeting youth, urban voters with Tamil pride + nationalism mix.
Politics is brutal, Annamalai poured energy into BJP South, built visibility like crazy. When Delhi chose comfort alliances over his Singham connect, he walked with dignity.
Respect! No begging for scraps.
BIG WIN for India!
For years, many companies in India sold "frozen desserts" in the name of ice cream using palm oil and other vegetable fats instead of real milk.
But today, Kwality Wall's global CEO has announced that by next year, their products will become real ice creams, with milk instead of palm oil.
Honestly, just the way we criticize brands we need to appreciate them too when they do a good job! This is what happens when people start reading labels and asking questions.
In the last few years, so many companies have made improvements in their products. Imagine the impact if crores of Indians start reading labels together. Once again, thank you, Kwality Walls, for taking this step!
I want to thank Amul and other companies as well for running several campaigns on this, which had a major contribution to this change happening.
Let's make India healthy again! Label Padhega India!

A 30-Minute Test That Can Prevent Colon Cancer
Colorectal cancer is rising rapidly in India, especially in younger urban populations. Yet, it is one of the few cancers that can actually be prevented by removing precancerous polyps during colonoscopy.
Who should undergo screening colonoscopy?
🔹 Everyone above 45 years (some Indian guidelines still use 50).
🔹 Earlier (40 or younger) if:
1. Family history of colorectal cancer/polyps
2. Inflammatory bowel disease
3. Hereditary cancer syndromes
4. Alarm symptoms: blood in stool, unexplained anemia, weight loss, altered bowel habits.
How often should colonoscopy be done?
✅ Normal colonoscopy: once every 10 years
✅ If polyps are found: interval depends on number/type of polyps (often 3–5 years)
Why is colonoscopy important?
✅Detects cancer at an early, curable stage
✅Detects & removes adenomatous polyps before they turn into cancer
✅Reduces colorectal cancer incidence
✅Reduces mortality substantially
Landmark evidence:
🔸NEJM study showed that screening colonoscopy was associated with ~68% reduction in colorectal cancer mortality.
🔸Another landmark National Polyp Study showed that removal of precancerous polyps reduced death from colorectal cancer by 53%.
