🧵| Shug Jordan in #DDay
When 156,000 Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy 80 years ago today, James Ralph "Shug" Jordan was one of them.
In fact, Shug was one of the few people to know the secret details of the landings before June 6, 1944. (1/8)
90% of the soldiers on the first boats to hit the beach didn't live to see the end of the day. Look at those faces. Some of them never made it to 18.
Never forget that they paid the ultimate price for our freedom. We live our lives the way we do because of them.
Auburn has been to 6 Super Regionals all time. Butch Thompson has taken us to 5 of them. He changed the standard and built Plainsman into one of the best atmospheres in college baseball. Don’t take him for granted folks. Show up this weekend for this team
NC State HC Elliot Avent on the Auburn Regional:
"I've been to a lot of regionals. Auburn, Alabama, is a special place to me. It's one of the class places in all of college sports. The people. They're great fans and great sports fans. It's different than most places you go."
We lost Pat Dye six years ago today. The very definition of an Auburn man through and through. What he did for us is hard to put into words. He’s greatly missed but the legacy lives on.
AUBURN HAS DONE IT
