@plaidculture In the first example, the Oxford, or serial, comma separates all 3 items in the series so you know there’s 3 separate nouns.

But in the second, the last 2 items in the series are acting as a modifier for the first. And it SEEMS nitpicky, but it make be an important distinction.

I’m just gonna say it: The reason the Oxford comma matters is because without it the last 2 items in your list are functioning as an appositive phrase.
