Taeyeon released her debut EP 'I', on October 7, 2015, powered by its title track "I", written by Taeyeon, which reached #1 on Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. 'I' was a huge commercial success, debuting at #2 on the Gaon Album Chart and #2 in Taiwan, and was the 16th best-selling album of 2015 in South Korea! According to the Korea Music Contents Industry Association, 'I' was the main contributor which helped SM Entertainment top digital music sales in South Korea during the 4th quarter of 2015! The EP topped the Billboard World Albums chart! In 2016, Taeyeon released her Gaon chart-topping single "Rain", followed by her 2nd EP 'Why', which topped the Gaon Album Chart. Taeyeon's debut studio album, 'My Voice', was released in 2017, and was a huge critical and commercial success, powered by the single "Fine". 'My Voice' topped the Gaon Album Chart and "Fine" debuted at #1 on the Gaon Digital Chart! The Album also spawned the top-5 singles "11:11" and "Make Me Love You". It peaked at #3 on the Gaon Album Chart and at #4 on the Billboard World Albums Chart. Taeyeon embarked on a sold-out Japan Showcase Tour, visiting Fukuoka, Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka. She then released her debut Japanese single, "Stay", on June 30, 2018, accompanied by the B-side "I'm The Greatest". Taeyeon embarked on her 2nd Asian tour (Oct. 2018 - Jan. 2019) including a show at Hong Kong's Asia World Expo Arena, with Taeyeon making history as the first Korean female solo artist to hold a solo concert at the venue. Encore concerts of her tour took place at Seoul's Jamsil Arena on March 23 - 24, 2019! Taeyeon released her 2nd studio album, 'Purpose' (2019), powered by its #1 hit single "Four Seasons" and top-5 single "Spark". 'Purpose' debuted at #2 in South Korea, selling over 154,258 copies and was nominated for Disc Bonsang and Disc Daesang at the 34th Golden Disc Awards, while its single "Four Seasons" won Digital Bonsang, also nominated for Digital Daesang. 'Purpose' appeared on numerous year-end best music lists of 2019. Her 3rd studio album 'INVU' (2022) reached #2 on the Gaon chart, #18 on the Australian Digital Albums chart and the Oricon Albums chart and #70 on the UK Digital Albums chart, powered by its title track "INVU" which hit #8 on the Billboard World Digital Songs and topped Korea's Gaon Digital Chart for 4 straight weeks! Taeyeon was awarded Best Female Solo Artist at the 2022 Genie Music Awards! Taeyeon released her 5th EP, 'To. X' on Nov. 27, 2023 with its lead single of the same name, and hit #2 on both the Circle Album Chart and Circle Digital song Chart! "To. X" was the best-performing single of January 2024 on the Circle Digital Chart! On July 8, Taeyeon released the single "Heaven" and on August 29, she released the Korean duet version of "I'm Not the Only One" with British Superstar Sam Smith as part of the 10th Anniversary Remix of Sam's debut studio album, 'In the Lonely Hour'! Taeyeon kicked off her 6th concert tour in Seoul on March 7, 2025. On Nov. 18, 2025 she released her 6th EP 'Letter to Myself' which hit #4 on the Circle Album chart! Her compilation album 'Panorama: The Best of Taeyeon' dropped on December 1 to mark her 10th anniversary! The song received its 1st music program award in Show Champion on December 10, 2025!

Taeyeon is a very talented lyricist having writing credits on several songs, including her 2015 debut solo title track "I", and notably on "To the Moon" from her 2020 mini-album 'What Do I Call You', where she contributed to both the lyrics and composition and "Can't Control Myself" in 2022!

Taeyeon is also a TV star, famous for hosting the reality shows 'We Got Married' and 'Begin Again' in 2019, and 'Queendom 2' in 2022! She has been a cast member of 'Amazing Saturday' since 2020. Taeyeon recorded several soundtracks for various television dramas and films, including "If" for Hong Gil-dong and "Can You Hear Me" for Beethoven Virus both in 2008 and the chart-topping "All About You" for Hotel del Luna in 2019!

Taeyeon has secured several notable endorsements and ambassadorships, particularly in beauty and luxury sectors, showcasing her influence as a global K-pop icon. In 2010 she became the 1st female Asian ambassador for Nature Republic and various other Korean beauty brands. In 2022 she became the muse and later Brand Ambassador for Benefit Cosmetics. In 2021, she represented Sulwhasoo's premium ginseng skincare campaign, boosting sales significantly in China and ASEAN markets. In October 2424, she became the ambassador for Louis Vuitton's fine jewelry line "Le Damier de Louis Vuitton".

Taeyeon is dedicated to philanthropy, supporting vulnerable groups through substantial donations. In 2019, she donated ₩100 million to the Korean Red Cross for low-income women, children, and teens, earning her a membership in the Red Cross Honors Club as the 1st celebrity from North Jeolla Province. She also donated ₩100 million to the Stump Foundation for Youth in 2023 for underprivileged adolescents, and in 2025 she donated another ₩100 million to aid wildfire recovery efforts. In October 2025, she received the Prime Minister’s Commendation at Korea's Financial Day for her ongoing support of underprivileged girls, animal protection, and responsible giving. Her generosity highlights her commitment to social causes in Korea.
