On this platform, the normalization of bodyshaming has become alarmingly common. Mocking Changbin’s body, ridiculing his appearance, and treating these attacks as harmless jokes is neither humor nor opinion—it is harassment. The fact that this kind of content reaches thousands of views and interactions only shows how easy it is to dehumanize someone when they are perceived as a distant idol.
Changbin is not an object, not a fictional character, and not a punching bag for releasing frustration or fueling fanwars. He is a real person, with emotions, boundaries, and dignity. Constantly dragging him into conflicts between fandoms, using his image to provoke reactions, or justify personal attacks reflects a complete lack of empathy and accountability. He did not start these conflicts, nor does he deserve to carry the hatred others choose to direct at him.
The hypocrisy surrounding these situations is impossible to ignore. Many people demand respect, morality, and sensitivity when the idols they follow are attacked, yet remain silent, or actively participate, when the hate is directed at Changbin or other idols. This double standard also exists within the fandom itself and cannot continue to be overlooked. Bodyshaming cannot be condemned in one case and justified in another based on convenience. Selective empathy is not empathy.
There is absolutely no justification for insults targeting someone’s physical appearance, mass harassment, mockery disguised as humor, or threats. Defending personal preferences or favorite idols does not grant anyone the right to dehumanize another person. Someone’s appearance is not an argument, not a joke, and not a weapon to win internet disputes.
Furthermore, interacting with this type of content does not help stop it. Replying, quoting, or giving it visibility only amplifies its reach and makes it harder for such content to be removed. Anger is understandable, but the most effective response is always to report it under Abuse & Harassment (Inciting Harassment / Insults), block the accounts involved, and avoid engaging in any way.
The normalization of bodyshaming and hatred disguised as entertainment says far more about those who practice it than about the person they attempt to attack. Changbin deserves respect. Idols deserve respect. And moral consistency should not depend on who you follow or which side of a discussion you are on. Respect is not optional.
@BannyTheSheep@R1ppxd_Op3nn as an ex-minor who interacted with these kinds of fandoms honestly i didn't give a fuck back then and i still don't. usually at 14 you've already seen some more traumatizing shit (ntm that it's the age of puberty, so it's common for teenagers to intentionally search such content)
@floutro @chuuves69 @euphoriaeys danielle and jk are known friends, assuming that they don't talk about everything that's going on and jk was hurt is parasocial asf
