Her Halloween displays and Christmas light switch-on help to bring the neighbourhood together, whilst also raising vital funds for the local food bank. Her neighbours describe her as a “ray of sunshine” who creates a community of “love, acceptance and kindness.”

She wins the ‘Bravery’ award for saving the life of a little boy whilst she was on holiday in Skegness. After noticing that the toddler was choking on his food at a restaurant, Carrie performed the Heimlich manoeuvre and administered back slaps until it became dislodged from his throat.
