When someone invites you out, eat moderately, especially when you are not the one paying.
As a woman, when you go on a date, order like a sensible human being. It is not an opportunity to taste expensive meals you have never had before.
As a man, when your guy invites you out for drinks, order responsibly when you get to the table. If you come with someone else, say a lady, and she orders food, make sure you give your guy some money towards the bill before you leave.
I have two personal rules. First, I can never order more than the person paying for the meal. If I want something more expensive, I will pay for it myself. I rarely drink beer these days and mostly take wine, but I cannot attend a gathering where the host is drinking Heineken or Tiger and then order wine and expect him to pay for it. ๐
My second rule is that whenever someone invites me out, I make sure I give the person some money to help with the bill. I even do this when a married colleague invites me to dinner at his house. After eating, I give the kids some money before leaving.
I don't like taking advantage of people's generosity or enjoying free things without contributing. I always make sure I am financially involved in one way or another. It's a matter of principle and consideration for me.
