#asureads22 While reading the book #blackbrotherblackbrother22 I was astonished that Donte was accused immediately for something he didn’t do. I felt sad and angry that the principal would call the police on him for something as simply as throwing down his backpack. (1/6)

@JolennW Kids like Allen have parents and other people like the school ( because of funding) protect them or turn a blind eye so they’ll turn and try to blame someone else. They’ll bully people because they’ll get away with it. It’s sad and really concerning #asureads22 (1/2)

@JolennW I think children who are protected from punishment know they will be protected no matter what. Some kids feel bad and it’s the parents who keep them quiet to maintain an image but others actually do get a kick out of people being in trouble because of them #asureads22 (1/2)

@jewell_p_rhodes I loved your book Black Brother, Black Brother! It’s a great read and it brings up a topic that a lot of people don’t want to talk about, instead push it aside. I love the character Donte as he develops through the book with fencing #asureads22
