Honouring Service, Saving Lives: The Legacy of Alan Forcer and the Power of the Forcer Protocol
As we approach Remembrance Day, our Partner, Gemma Vine, writes about the power of the Forcer Protocol and the impact it is having. Yesterday, she attended a parliamentary review of the protocol’s progress and heard that 26 out of 43 police forces have now adopted the Forcer Protocol, with more in talks for 2026. It is estimated that several hundred lives have already been saved by this initiative.

On Monday, our PI & Inquest team traded coffee cups for cake plates - and flipping our clothes inside out 🧡 - to support the Inside Out campaign by @ifucareshare
Why? Because mental health matters.
As inquest lawyers, we see the impact of loss and the importance of compassionate support every day. By turning our clothes inside out, we’re starting conversations and showing that what’s going on inside is just as important as what we see on the outside.
Together, we can break the stigma, raise awareness, and support a cause that saves lives.
Shout out to Sarah Magson, who recently joined our team, and who suggested the initiative.

Spotlight On: Tina’s Haven And The Trees Of Hope🌱
Tina Robson died in July 2020 after losing a battle against trauma-based addiction.
Back in September, @nationaltrust announced the “Trees of Hope” project which would see 49 saplings from the iconic Sycamore Gap tree allocated to nationwide projects & planted as a symbol of hope and healing.
Tina’s Haven Nature Reserve was a recipient of one of these saplings.

An inquest into the death of David and Clayton Bottomley from Yorkshire has taken place this week in Liverpool Coroner's Court before Assistant Coroner, Johanna Thompson.
The family are represented by our Director and Head of PI and Inquests, Gareth Naylor alongside Richard Copnall of Counsel.
The father and son were working in Liverpool in a mast climber when it failed and crashed to the ground.
Yesterday the jury heard from HSE mechanical engineer Andrew Crouch who described how the equipment did not conform with British Standards and that someone had tampered with the power settings. Upon questioning he accepted that if these issues had not been present then it is likely that the accident would not have happened.
We expect the jury to retire to consider their conclusion today and will provide further updates in due course.
More about the case can be read here: https://t.co/i58Fz58EyO

Gemma Vine is joining @theJeremyVine on @BBCRadio2 at 12pm to discuss the tragic murders of three people in Bushey.
This is the latest incident involving a crossbow & reinforces the need for tighter rules around crossbow ownership.
Tune into Radio 2 at 12pm. @YvetteCooperMP
It's reassuring to see the government taking a proactive view on crossbow legislation in the wake of the deaths of Carol, Louise & Hannah Hunt this week.
We continue to campaign for more stringent regulations to prevent any more needless deaths.
