The riots aren’t about Zuma anymore. They are rooted in joblessness and inequality - which, ironically became far worse under Zuma’s economic carnage and corrupt, self-serving rule.

Really proud of my little bees. They’ve produced some honey I’m thrilled with. It’s a bio-active Leptospermum - a native manuka. And it’s delicious. We’re @mounthenryhoney on the insta. This, and our four other varieties, are available online. https://t.co/UTz3UhSJlk
#SeeWhatYouMadeMeDo on @SBS tonight - as devastating as it is important... The most important television viewing this year, and in my mind, ever. 💔 #domesticviolence
PSA: My Octopus Teacher is a must watch documentary on Netflix Australia. Wow. Beautiful, evocative and heartfelt. I found it especially moving as my dad learnt to dive in those beautiful Capetown kelp forests.
Look at that brood! Go girls! #beelyf#bees my girls have had a blinding winter, and overall have not gone backwards at all. Some even have a heap of drone brood! Yewwwwwwww bring on summer
If you have Netflix do yourself a favour and watch the 2016 documentary, 13th. “Filmmaker Ava DuVernay explores the history of racial inequality in the United States, focusing on the fact that the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with African-Americans.”
@desert_ecology Thank you Glenda! The team on that trip was a highlight! I feel so grateful to have been part of it. We definitely plan on lots of big sky country adventures... After all, without the desert I would not have met @Manic_Henry - and our little fam wouldn’t be! Take care too!
Gosh I was lucky to be on this trip, employed by Syd Uni to document the DERG’s incredible work. The red sand got under my skin & I recall meeting my future ABC Western QLD colleagues in Bedourie on the way out. Little did I know I’d be back 18 months later to live in Longreach!
10 years ago today 14 people set off on the three-day drive from @Sydney_Science to the #SimpsonDesert, for three weeks' #fieldwork with the Desert Ecology Research Group. That was their 20th year studying of the effects of feral predators (and much more) on biodiversity. #WildOz
@JackDAshby@Sydney_Science@AarontheEcolog @James_Schlunke @tonytonkers@desert_ecology And what a wonderful 3 wks! Rising with the glowing horizon, the big skies, rolling sand dunes and sleeping under the gidgee grove on Ethabuka - endless amazing memories! SUCH a special part of the world, & fabulous work & research to boot. So lucky to have experienced it all. 🧡
Everyone should listen to Fran Kelly’s @RNBreakfast interview with the mother of the 16 year old boy arrested with severe force in Sydney earlier this week.
When 28 bearded men from Mullumbimby with a love of vodka and Russian folk music came together, something strangely wonderful happened 🧔🎶
