Today is the start of #SMAAwarenessMonth
Here’s something I wrote a couple of years ago, answering your questions to raise awareness.
I’m still open for questioning, so hit me?

Given many disabled people can’t drive, you’d think we’d have accessibility on buses sorted – but we we’re far from it
If we were to design from scratch, how could we make buses better for disabled people?
I’ll go first…
Tea workshop @BirdandBlendTea#Norwich was amazing. Tea cocktails, sampling delicious blends & creating my own. Couldn’t be more accommodating, ramp was at the ready & permission to use accessible loo at the restaurant next door. Thanks for a great evening #BirdAndBlendNorwich

@gigsandtours@lucylou87 Wheelchair users have friends too. I’d like to see the reaction if you only allowed every customer to purchase 1 lonely ticket @gigsandtours
Gutted I’ve missed out on @foofighters tickets because I want to sit with my wheelchair using friends but am also a wheelchair user myself. Shocking service from @gigsandtours only allowing the purchase of 1 accessible ticket per order.
@gigsandtours @xMarsMinxx So a carer counts as a friend? I cant sit alongside my wheelchair using friends because I’m a wheelchair user myself?! Surely that’s discrimination.
This. Only Capaldi himself can dictate what’s worth it. If he’s happy on stage then let’s share in that joy with him.
He owes it to nobody to be perfect. He owes himself some happiness, however that looks.
His body has changed significantly (disability wise). He needs support.
Tonight, the BBC premiered #BestInterests which I feel quite personally connected to.
From what I’ve seen it sensitively portrays the discussion around what quality of life means, through the lens of an undiagnosed form of Muscular Dystrophy.
This is for those we've lost through lack of access to respiratory care, and those who are here today to vent and represent because of the progress which is happening.
Share with everyone you know who uses any type of ventilation, and with everyone who needs to know more
