@Thinkingschool2 While m’ing visits are meant to be supportive,other than listing what progress you’ve made,they don’t offer support.They’re just a ‘checking up on you’ exercise from my experience.I’m awaiting one after a Dec deferral.Also find timescales shocking! 7mths/13mths after inspection🤦🏼‍♀️

@MissSuffix @Headteacherchat Exactly the same for me.The HMI read what seemed like a ‘script’ & offered the deferral.I was warned the answer could still be ‘no’, but an hour later, after a carefully worded email, I was told our two day monitoring visit had been referred. Wrong time of year for any inspection

@Headteacherchat It all depends.They will challenge the govs on why the post is acting&if there’s not a clear rationale,they may say ‘leadership is fragile’.But if the acting head&govs can articulate the reasons for the acting post and show that the school is being led well,then it should be ok.

@MichaelT1979 I found that all of the online learning for my ECTs added to their workload for little benefit. Plus they took up hours of their ECT time which would take them away from more beneficial tasks like observing colleagues etc.

@alicekeeler @Seesaw this is an amazing app which can act as a digital journal for you class’ work (put very simply). Parents can be signed up to their child’s account which means they can see what their child is doing in school. There’s many other benefits once you start using it.

@Headteacherchat Monitoring visit on the 11th July- inspector explained that it’ll come in Sept as ofsted won’t expect us to work/monitor emails over the summer.

@MrBoothY6 Yes! There’s evidence that victims don’t report abuse as they are too scared or ashamed to say the correct word- have been told they are ‘rude’ or ‘naughty’ words. Normalise it!!!
