Setting aside the disability pension issue for a moment, Mr. Raghav Chadha should know that the vast majority of our Jawans do not even pay income tax. Thanks to the Modi government significantly increasing the income tax exemption limit, their regular salaries are completely tax-free. Furthermore, the medical care and facilities provided to our soldiers are now vastly superior under the Modi government.
PM Modi even celebrates Diwali with them.
Tell your team to do better research before writing these dramatic scripts.

The questions raised were simple and direct. The MoS Finance’s answer is a classic case of misdirection and beating about the bush. It does not address the main issue of why a distinction has been introduced between military personnel invalided and those who serve out their term.
