There's dispute about whether the halos are from polonium-218. Young-earth creationists admit polonium-218 halos occur very rarely. Far more common are uranium-238 & thorium-232 halos, neither of which are disputed by geologists. These halos require long time periods to form (over 100 million years) since both have radiometric half-lives in the billions of years.
