Vibe coding is not completely removing the entry barrier to software development for anything mid-to-long-term, but it lowers it and gives a fantastic start.
It's easy to reach a dead end on a project without understanding code, though, once it grows too large.
Fully agree.
Most non-dysfunctional software teams historically worked like this:
- One sound engineer made all the important decisions.
- Several other engineers just executed.
This created massive inefficiencies due to overhead, misalignment, subpar execution quality, etc.
@TechLeadWAi Completely agree with your insights!
In the end this will be a swim or sink situation where the ones that adapt will thrive.
Companies will need to decide, though, if they want to ship the same amount with less manpower, or if they want to ship +10x with the same manpower.
OpenAI just launched free AI mini courses.
It’s sorta like their version of those iPhone classes at Apple stores. All about education democratization and user base engagement.
Everything is free 💰
Classes include “How to” videos on prompting, Sora, Deep Research, and more. They also have live events, like AI for Older Adults, AI for Nonprofits, AI for Academic Success, and more.

You can build your dream project with these tools. You can!
Just get started. This window of building software is shrinking with every passing week.
Soon, Agents will be coding SaaS and other Agents.
If this goes well, I'll write about how to "Market your SaaS" in next post.
An AI component library built on top of @shadcn for easily creating AI apps.
Use the shadcn CLI to get individual components or full working examples (blocks) with the @aisdk.

@kayladotdev@cursor_ai@shaoruu Going to set this rules on my Cursor settings and see what happens 🤖 Although Cursor already works great for me without any rules, interesting to see if this will have any positive impact or overfit 😊
Aider v0.59.0 allows /read-only to auto-complete and glob across the entire file system. The conf file now supports full YAML list syntax. QOL improvements and bugfixes for Architect mode.
Aider wrote 77% of the code in this release.

general tips:
- use cursor tab to code faster
- cmd+L = chat, cmd+i = composer, cmd+k = edits
- in any prompt input box, type @ to quickly add context
- use the + button for chat/composer to add files
- cmd+/ to switch between models
- cmd+enter in chat to chat codebase-wide
- drag/drop/copy/paste image(s) to chat with or use them
niche tips that one may find useful:
- for composer, press "Save all" before "Accept all" so you can still reject after testing your code out
- cmd-shift-i to open a bigger composer view
- alt-enter in chat to send a message without current file
- cmd-i in chat to pop chat's message into composer
- @web in chat/composer to get up-to-date information
- @git stuff to reference your changes, for example @ a commit and ask for AI to review
- @<link> so the AI visits the link first before answering
- Cursor Settings > Features, add docs so you can @ external documentations
- use / commands to reference open/active editors
- turn on suggested files for chat/composer to add related files in easier
- lastly, there are cubes everywhere that you can trigger composers for, such as using all search results
Fast scaling has massive downsides: startups that scale more quickly fail more, but are no more likely to succeed than those that scale slower.
Why? Because scaling marks the end of experimenting. Startups that scale after lots of experiments succeed. https://t.co/MRHGIgCZtk
We've raised $60M from Andreessen Horowitz, Jeff Dean, John Schulman, Noam Brown, and the founders of Stripe and Github.
Cursor has become recognized as the best way to code with AI, powered by an ensemble of custom and frontier models, delightful editing, and petabyte-scale infrastructure.
Our mission is to create a magical tool that will one day write all the world's software. Join us!
@udiomusic 🤖Interested in testing your product but currently over capacity sadly. I checked if there was an option to pay for a subscription that would allow to have capacity, but it seems unfeasible for now. Any expected ETA on extra capacity to evaluate? ⏰
🤖I was keen on trying out the new .cursorrules file from @cursor_ai but I hit several walls. The main one, the file is loaded properly on regular chat messages, but blatantly ignored when using control/cmd + intro (message with context) in which case it just forgets it totally⚡️
@Diyi_Yang@chris_bail 🤖That looks amazing, keep up the good work! This kind of tools are definitely one of the best possible ways to leverage AI, interestingly making human interactions more human. Kinda ironic, right? #GenAI
@TheRundownAI 🤖I wonder how OpenAI will react to the performance shown by Claude 3. Seeing some good results (and specially much better speed) in cursor when leveraging Claude 3 Opus ⚡️
